Phum Thnarl Primary School in Siem Reap is another beneficiary of the CBM Foundation Fund. They will be receiving from March until December 2010, a grant totaling to US$9,200. In partnership with Family Care Cambodia (FCCP), CBM Foundation will sponsor the salary for English teachers, who provide daily English lessons for 200 children & host an English Camp for 100 students, teaching 5 different workshops, and for the computer teacher who not only teaches computer lessons but instills in the minds of the students the importance of information technology in the modern living. Furthermore, CBM Foundation is supporting the construction of hand washing sinks to support the project of Family Care Cambodia in enhancing the hygiene and sanitation standards of the Phum Thnarl School.   An additional fund of US$2,500.00 is allocated for distributing children’s story books which were translated & printed in full-color with Khmer & English text in 25 public primary schools in Phnom Penh. The story is of a Garden where the plants learn a lesson about being content and realizing that they are each valuable, special & needed in their own way—a very important message for the children here. Each school will be provided 10 story books to be placed in their library. The goal of Family Care Cambodia (formerly called Child Reach Cambodia) is to improve the quality of life for orphans and abandoned children in Phnom Penh. Family Care Cambodia also provides educational materials & motivational programs in institutions, schools & hospitals, both government & private, in effort to improve the educational development of Cambodian youth as well as provide training & educational materials for local teachers & educators.
